How to Connect Your
Domain to QuantumHost

Once your hosting plan is active, follow these simple steps to point your domain to your new server. Most sites are live within minutes.

1
Step 1

Choose a Hosting Plan & Activate

Sign up for any QuantumHost plan. Once your order is complete, your server will be provisioned instantly. Head to your Client Dashboard → Services and you'll find your server's dedicated IP address listed there.

Where to find your IP: Dashboard → My Services → click your plan → the IP address is shown in the service details panel.
2
Step 2

Log In to Your Domain Provider

Open the DNS management panel at the registrar where you purchased your domain. Look for sections labelled "DNS Management", "Zone Editor", or "Advanced DNS".

Step 3 — Most Important

Add DNS Records Pointing to Your Server IP

In your DNS zone, create these two records. Replace 203.0.113.42 with the actual IP address shown in your QuantumHost dashboard.

DNS Records to Add replace IP with yours
Type Name / Host Value / Points To TTL
A @ 203.0.113.42 3600
A www 203.0.113.42 3600
What these records do: The @ record handles yourdomain.com directly. The www record handles www.yourdomain.com. Both should point to the same server IP.

Step 4

Wait for DNS Propagation — Then You're Live!

DNS changes don't take effect instantly — they spread across global resolvers over time. Typical propagation times depend on your TTL setting and your ISP's cache.

⚡ Fast
1 – 15 minutes
✦ Typical
1 – 4 hours
⟳ Worst case
Up to 48 hours

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — if you have existing A records for @ or www pointing elsewhere, delete them first. Having duplicate A records pointing to different IPs will cause inconsistent results.
If Cloudflare is acting as your DNS provider, add an A record in your Cloudflare dashboard for both @ and www pointing to your QuantumHost IP. Make sure to set the proxy status to "DNS only" (grey cloud) initially so you can verify the connection works.
Log in → My Services → click your active hosting plan → the IP address is listed in the service information box alongside your hostname and nameservers.
No. You can use any existing domain. Just update the DNS records or nameservers at your current registrar to point to QuantumHost. No domain transfer is required.
An A (Address) record maps a domain name directly to an IPv4 address. When someone types your domain into a browser, DNS resolves it to the IP in your A record, which is your server.
Absolutely. Once your domain points to your server, you can upload your site files via FTP/SFTP or use the CyberPanel file manager. Your entire site — all files, databases, emails — lives on your QuantumHost server.
